CHARLOTTE, N.C. [June 17, 2019] – Leading North American manufacturer of waste handling equipment, Wastequip, demonstrated its support for garbage workers with a celebration in honor of Waste and Recycling Workers Week on Friday, June 14.
The celebration provided an opportunity for the Milton Road Boys and Girls Club members of Charlotte, N.C. to take a field trip to the Toter plant to learn how garbage cans are made, to explore garbage trucks up close and to thank garbage workers for their service. Drivers from the City of Statesville, Waste Pro and Amrep were on hand to answer questions about their equipment and careers in the waste industry.

Wastequip staff volunteered with Boys and Girls Club members by helping them write thank you cards to the garbage workers, teaching them about waste industry careers and providing them with a tour of the Toter plant to educate them about the Advanced Rotational Molding™ process, which creates a stronger garbage can that is built for toughness and maximum impact resistance. The members also rotated outside to explore the garbage trucks, meet the drivers and learn about waste equipment.
